Humanitarian and Community Cohesion Project / HCC

Project Goal:

Vulnerable people in Balkh and Herat can meet their immediate food/nutrition needs and gain the knowledge, skills, and tools of family cohesion and conflict resolution on their own (The people will know their rights and will be able to resolve their conflict by the knowledge they have got from the project and make decisions by their own).

Project Main Activities:

• Do No Harm assessment at the targeted district level
• Beneficiary selection in the targeted districts in consultation with community leaders and administration, in Balkh and Herat provinces. The Household head will be considered a beneficiary for the project. HASEL project beneficiaries are excluded from this project
• Consultation with other NGOs for avoiding duplication while beneficiary selection
• Distribution of $100 to 490 households to meet immediate basic needs.
1. The $100 amount has been finalized concerning the market survey of the basic raw material prices and FSAC cluster in the Balkh and Herat provinces. It will be the one-off distribution of cash.
• Coordination meetings with the community leaders and administration, food security, other clusters, and key. stakeholders regularly.
• Gender-based violence workshop for project participants.
• Family-based violence workshop by SDO trainers.

Afghanistan Community Resilience and Livelihoods Project / ACRLP

Project Goal:
The Project Development Objective (PDO) is to provide short-term livelihood opportunities and deliver urgent basic services in rural and urban areas of Afghanistan. A total of 1 million households are expected to be direct beneficiaries of Components 1 to 3 while a total population of around 9 million is expected to benefit from the services of the infrastructure subprojects financed under this Project.

Project Goal:

The Just Future project works to mobilize communities around their common interest for co-existence, tolerance, and peaceful society. This goal is considered to be achieved via inter-community harmony sessions and gatherings at different levels.

Daikundi & Maidan Wardak
Primary Health and Trauma Care Services in Hard to Reach and Conflict Affected Areas / PHTS

Project Goal:

Communities in Maidan wardak and Daikundi provinces are provided with BHC,SHC and  health services to improve the health statues of people with reducing the maternal, new born, infant, child mortality and improve child health; nutrition for target population throughout the project life cycle.

1. To outreach number of Outpatient in OP department for four month.

2. To support Mother and child with ANC, PNC, and Mental health services (social councillor) delivery Nutrition, and vaccination.

Project Main Activities:

1. Supply of medicines & equipment.

2. Mother and child health services will be provided under health care services.

3. Screening of under 5 children and referral of severe acute malnutrition and moderate acute malnutrition cases to BPHS nearby health facilities.

4. BPHS and HFs Coordination in the targeted province.

Target Supplementary Feeding Program / TSFP

Project Goal:

Treatment of malnourished children under the age of 6-59 months and pregnant and lactating women and improving living and nutrition by the end of year 2022.

Project Main Activities:

Timely delivering of food for malnourished children and mothers in Zabul Province

Public awareness of the relationship between optimal health care, malnutrition of children, pregnant and lactating women in the community.

Treatment of women and children at risk of malnutrition and raising awareness of pregnant and lactating women.

Seasonal Support Unconditional Program / SSUP

Project Goal:

  1. To prevent the deterioration of the food security status of the highly vulnerable communities and especially the high-risk groups such as women and children in the target districts during the lean season.
  2. To provide food assistance under an unconditional seasonal support project to 218,512 vulnerable women, men, girls, and boys in the target districts of Herat and Badghis province.

Project Main Activities:

• Conduct vulnerability assessment in finding out the real target group (verification of the target group) if not previously carried out

• Establishment of the committee for the identification and selection of eligible beneficiaries as per WFP criteria.

• Identification and selection of the project beneficiaries.

• Biometric identification of the beneficiaries before distribution, wherever applicable.

• Distribution of food to the selected and verified beneficiaries.

• Monitoring and supervising beneficiaries’ selection and food distribution processes.

Baseline Study of Access to justice Project / Search

Project Goal:

Analysis of women and children’s access to justice in nine select provinces of Afghanistan as a baseline component of the project “CSOs for Accountable Justice: Empower CSOs and Media to improve Access to Justice and Provision of Legal Aid”.

Project Main Activities:

  1. To understand and map the state of legal aid and justice services available in the target provinces.
  2. Identify existing gaps and barriers for accessing justice, especially legal aid services and other legal support mechanisms by the community, especially by women and children.

Madrassas, Securitisation and Hybrid Warfare in Afghanistan

Project Goal:

To support and promote institutional reforms and regulatory oversight of the madrassa system in Afghanistan.

Project Main Activities:

  1. Updating Peace Education Curriculum for use in madrassas: Adding materials with Islamic perspectives.
  2. Researching best practices from Muslim countries with similar experience of madrassa reform including Pakistan and Bangladesh to learn from their experience developing madrassas regulatory body (online).
  3. Reaching out to NED to help developing a network of their partners in Pakistan and Bangladesh for on madrassa regulatory body.
  4. Analysis the Phase-I research data and research report, develop and research on the implications of South Asian radical madrassas on Afghan politics and education system.

Home-Based Care Project for COVID-19

Project Goals:

1. Province mobile healthcare services to communities and IDPs with a special focus on mother and child health, COVID-19 case management, and provision of essential primary healthcare services in Kabul city and its related districts.
2. Provide home-based care support to COVID-19 patients in their respective communities. This will also include increased risk communication among the public and the target population.
3. Provide COVID-19 vaccination support and demand generation for COVID-19 Vaccine —newly added.

Project Main Activities:

Increase access to primary healthcare for IDPs with a special focus on women and children.

  Increase risk communication, case detection, and case management of COVID-19 in the targeted population, i.e. students, IDPs, and general communities.

 Refer/ manage suspected severe cases to/in COVID-19 hospitals   Provide essential primary health care services to IDPs.

Madrassas Reform Research

Goal:

The overall goal of this intervention is that through comprehensive research and mapping activities, we produce sets of analytical policy data used for the prevention of teachings and dissemination of intolerance and extremist ideas propagated by extremists in unregulated and unregistered madrassas across Afghanistan. This program also will empower relevant government agencies and international partners to develop and implement reform and regulatory mechanisms for the unregistered madrassas across the country.
Main Activities:
  • Madrassa literature review
  • Developing materials for research training and orientation
  • Official permission and coordination with the authorities (Reps. Ministry of Haj-Religious Affairs and Ministry of Education)
  • Field researchers training and orientation by field supervisors
  • Advocating research findings back with local communities and support their reporting with recommendation to local elders, religious authorities and government officials

Goal:

Goal:
The Citizens' Charter aims to build united villages, neighborhoods, and cities, improve the relationship between the Government and its people and reduce poverty by providing basic services.
