Founder of the Sanayee Development Organization (SDO), Raz Mohammad Dalili is bornin10 January 1959, in Ghazni Afghanistan. He completed his primary and secondary education in Ghazi High school Kabul and received his bachelor degree in 1980, in the field of Economy from Kabul University.
Mr. Dalili is one of the most recognized peace educators and activists in Afghanistan. He firmly believes in community based peace building and has dedicated his life to promoting peace and non violence. His journey started in 1990s and he later authored a comprehensive Peace Education curriculum for students from first to twelfth grade. Dalili’s innovative programs have led to establishment of more than six hundred peace shuras in nine different provinces across Afghanistan.
Dalili also designed an impactful project called Peace Ambassadors through which tens of thousands of conflicts were peacefully resolved within Afghan communities, his similar efforts and innovations have avoided and prevented many conflicts, built strong relations and saved many lives of community members either directly or indirectly. He has participated in many trainings, workshops, conferences and seminars at regional and international level where he represented Afghanistan in the most effective manner.
Raz Dalili is even the ninth of a distinguished cohort of El-Hibri Foundation Peace Education Prize laureates, after succeeding a tough international competition he brought the prize to Afghanistan in 2015. He is also the first winner of Bibigul Literacy Prize 2016 for (SDO), on 20 November 2016.
Dalili’s precious efforts to integrate peace building into development processes are another initiative which helped to successful and peaceful implementation of many development projects in Afghanistan. Besides, he has directed few feature movies and produced pictorial books for children as a contribution to his struggle for peace. Furthermore, Dalili is the chief editor of peace building magazine and journal.
Raz Mohammad Dalili was not convinced of his endeavors at national level and has expanded his efforts and contributions scope to regional and international level while he is currently playing key roles in many regional and international CSOs coalitions, alliances and networks.
Ms. Najiba Ayubi is SDO’s Board Member since2014.She studied Literature and Journalism academically and is a prominent journalist, activist, writer and public speaker. Apart from her work as reporter and producer for some public and private broadcasters, she had contributed to severalAfghan national newspapers, magazines and Diasporanews outlets by writing various articles and editorials. She had worked for Save the Children (USA) as Senior Communication and Media Relations Officer and now is the Director of Development and Humanitarian Services for Afghanistan and its public media initiative the Killid Group (TKG) which has eight radio stations broadcasting in Kabul, Hirat, Jalalabad, Mazar and Kandahar with approximately 12 million listeners nationwide. Killid Weekly and Mursal Women’s Magazine are the two highly circulated publications covering political, social and women affairs under her supervision.
Since November 2010, she is the member of the steering committee of Afghanistan’s National Association of Journalists as well as the Coordinator of Steering Committee of Afghanistan Civil Society, a member of Afghanistan Review Commission on Mass Media Law and part of the executive team and working group as well as the Deputy of Afghanistan National Journalists Union. In 2012, she published a collection of stories about Afghan women and a year after, received an award for her courage in journalism (IWMF). She is an active member of different governmental commissions and a regular participant at various international conferences as media and civil society representative.
Mr. Abdul Razique Samadi is the Chairman of SDO’s Board of Directors since 2012.With a degree in Social Sciences, he has worked for “Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat” (Afghanistan National Electricity Corporation) as Chief Executive Officer from 2010 to 2015 after his tenure at the Ministry of Finance of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan as Deputy Minister from 2005 to 2010. Mr. Samadi has 33 years of working experience in different sectors of Afghanistan including military. With a strong background in managing and supervising national developmental projects, he has an extensive experience in implementing efficient and effective reform programs in both private and public sectors. He is married with four children.
Dr. Jamshid Omar is a member of Board of Directors since May 2016. He earned his doctorate degree from Kabul Medical University, Faculty of Curative Medicine in 2002 and obtained his master degree in Public Health and Management from Institute of Management Sciences (IMS). Previously, he worked as Technical Advisor for the Ministry of Education and joined SDO in 2011. He is also currently working in the capacity of Program Director. His publications printed by the Ministry of Education and other NGOs are: “Guidance and Counseling Guidelines for Master Trainers’’, “Domestic Violence”, “Psychosocial Health and Gender Equality”and “Handbook for School Counselors”
Mr. Sarwar Mamound is a member of SDO Board of Directors since 2013. He has a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ukraine and also a Diploma in Organizational Management from Swiss Aid College for Management and Economy based in Peshawar. He has worked for SDO as Capacity Building Manager (2005-2007). He is currently serving the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA). He has written and translated several books and articles for various entities on variety of topics including peace and conflict. His written work has been published in the prominent national magazines, newspapers and weeklies. His previous work experiences include Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Higher Education in various positions. He has wealth of experience in the field of peace making and conflict resolution.
